The Menards Xtreme 24913-1 garage door opener photo eye safety beam assembly from North Shore Commercial Door is a replacement Xtreme photo eye safety system for residential operators. An emitter photo eye plus sensor eye with installation brackets are included in this economically priced residential garage door opener safety beam set.
Federal law requires that operators have photo eye safety systems to protect against someone or something being caught in the door while the door is closing. The emitter photo eye emits an invisible infrared light beam, while the sensor photo eye monitors the light beam.
If something or someone is sensed in the path of the descending door, the door automatically stops and reverses to an open position. A flashing courtesy light will flash for 30 seconds to indicate any potential obstruction.
