BEA SuperScan Door Mounted Active Infrared Presence Sensor

The BEA 10SSTI SuperScan door-mounted active infrared presence sensor from North Shore Commercial Door is designed for commercial automatic pedestrian swing doors, revolving doors, folding and low-energy doors. Use it on a SMR or non-SMR system. You can create a daisy chain with up to nine slave modules. BEA's SuperScan 10SSTI sensor uses triangulation to detect the presence of pedestrians to eliminate false detections caused by varying floor and environment conditions for narrow or wide doors. To eliminate unwanted detection of guide rails or walls, each module detection zone can be angled independently. Unlike other door-mounted sensing devices, this SuperScan sensor's unique electronic architecture allows the detection modules to be mounted near the top of the door, out of harm's way. A rotating cam is used for the range adjustment of the detection zone. Coupled with BEA's Bodyguard overhead presence sensor, the SuperScan 10SSTI meets ANSI 156.10 standard for swing doors. Add slave modules to the master module to alter width patterns.

Each SuperScan module consists of two optics, a transmitter and a receiver. Each module functions independently of the other modules. The transmitter emits a precise beam, which measures approximately 4 inches in diameter at a distance of 8 feet. The receiver, in turn, receives the infrared beam reflected off of the floor. This transmission and reception forms a detection triangle, which is the basic premise of detection (called triangulation). Should this angle be interrupted, detection will occur. Detection will not be affected by the color or background of the object that interrupts the angle.

The SuperScan I 10SSTI Includes: 1 Master module in one housing. Overall length is 34.5 in. end cap to end cap.
