A pneumatic sensing edge is a pressurized air chamber (the gum hose) which fits inside the existing bottom seal of your door. When the pressurized chamber makes contact with an obstruction, the displaced air is sent to the air switch which is connected to the operator. The air switch then sends a signal through coil cord to the operator. The operator then reverses direction, or stops, depending on the make and model of the door operator. This product is a UL approved External Entrapment Protection System for your commercial doors, and should be used accordingly. This safety precaution is a non-monitored system, meaning that the system does not check for faults in the circuit, and it is important to test the activation along the sensing edge monthly.
